Background and Identification
The Pokéwalker is a small pedometer designed for use with Pokémon HeartGold and SoulSilver; the device can interact with the games in a number of ways. It features a Poké Ball-shaped design, a monochrome LCD screen, and three buttons.
Using an infrared signal, the Pokéwalker allows users to interact—within a short range—with a game card of Pokémon HeartGold or SoulSilver while slotted in the Nintendo DS, or with another Pokéwalker.
