Nintendo 64 Cartridges Repair

Released in 1996, for the Nintendo 64 (N64), the Nintendo 64 cartridges were the main medium for storing and playing games for the N64. The cartridges allowed for 64 megabytes of data to be stored which allowed for more advanced graphics, sounds, gameplay mechanics, and faster loading times than the previous SNES console.

The N64's cartridges themselves were also praised for their durability, however, they were also criticized for their high cost and limited storage when compared to CD-based consoles such as Sony's PlayStation. This also made it difficult for third-party developers to create games for the console.

*Note that not all cartridges use battery-backed SRAM based saves stored on the cartridge. Some use flash memory chips, while others use the N64 controller pak, which is essentially a memory card that plugs into the N64 controller, and itself uses battery-backed SRAM to save data.
