Background and Identification

Released in 2010, the Kyocera Zio M6000 was made available on both Sprint and Cricket Wireless. The smartphone ran on Android 1.6 at the time of its launch, later updating to version 2.2. Its features include a 3.5 inch display with 400 x 800 pixel resolution and touchscreen capability. Situated below the screen are touch controls for the Home key, back button, and menu shortcut. The trackball and buttons for Talk and End/Power are physical keys located at the bottom. For photos and video, the Zio has a 3.2 megapixel camera and can shoot video at 640 x 480 resolution at 24 fps. Known for being one of the least expensive devices at the time of its release, it appealed to consumers in the market for a budget smartphone.
