Background
The HP Pavilion g6-1d16dx laptop was released in 2011. The G-series was an affordable laptop with decent specifications but with the rebrand in 2011, it was included in the Pavilion series and received some upgrades in technical specifications. The most significant change was the upgraded 2.53GHz Intel Core i3-380M processor, though it is a 1st gen. It also has a lighter body compared to the G-series. It has a 15.6-inch display with standard 1,366x768-pixel resolution and is LED backlit. It includes Altec Lansing speakers but according to CNET, the sound is loud but thin. A big complaint is that the battery life is very short making it less portable. Another feature of note is it includes a DVD burner with LightScribe technology built in. The laptop came with a retail price of about $550.
Identification
The HP Pavilion g6-1d16dx is easliy identifiable by the HP logo centered below the screen, The HP Pavillion G series logo located on the top right of the keyboard, and the Pavilion G6 logo located underneath the bottom right corner of the screen. The model number can be located by removing the battery. It is located in the model number near the top right of the sticker in the battery compartment.
