HD99H

The Ground Hog Auger (model HD99-H) is a towable hydraulic Earthdrill that require no torque from the operator. The hydraulic hoses are protected within the machine’s frame. The Earthdrill also includes a six-gallon per minute hydraulic pump. The HD99-H model can dig holes with any auger with a 7/8-inch square auger drive up to an 18-inch diameter. The Earthdrill includes a red eight-inch auger attached to the machine.

The HD99-H model has three different handlebar positions, two for normal drilling and one for close-up drilling next to an obstacle or fence and transporting the machine. The auger’s drilling head pivots from side to side for easier drilling on irregular terrain. The HD99-H model features a 9-horsepower Honda GX270 gasoline-powered engine. The engine produces 275 foot-pounds of torque and a maximum auger speed of 140 rotations per minute. The engine frame also swivels to keep the engine level. The auger has variable forward speed and reverse auger rotation (which is useful if the auger becomes stuck).

The Ground Hog Auger (model HD99-H) includes 5.70- by 8-inch pneumatic highway-rated tires for towing and maneuvering. The HD99-H model can be identified by its yellow color and the number model HD99-H in black font along the main arm of the auger. The manufacturer’s name, “Ground Hog,” is also printed in red font with a black background on the auger’s main arm. It also includes a towbar with a 2-inch hitch coupler and safety chains.
