Background Information

Fermentation is a metabolic process that produces chemical changes in organic substrates through the action of enzymes. Normally fermentation vessels, such as enormous cylindroconical vessels, to open stone vessels, to wooden vats are used to ferment beers and wines. Once the wort has cooled, yeast is added to allow for fermentation to take place.
