Identification and Background ¶

The Crosley CR704 is one of several combination devices that Crosley manufactures. You can verify that you have a CR704 by locating its five audio-mode features: a turntable, cassette deck, CD deck, AM/FM radio and an auxiliary cable.

Some Crosley combination devices tend to look similar, but have several distinguishing attributes. It’s cosmetic features include: brown “paprika” finish, two sets of three speaker holes bordering the front control panel and a set on both the right and left side panels, a silver pewter finish control panel, and a cream-colored radio tuning background that displays AM/FM stations as “KHz” and “MHz”.

Crosley began manufacturing vintage-inspired electronics in 1989, and started combining technologies – AM/FM radio, CD player, turntable – in 1998 with a full-size jukebox.

Crosley discontinued the CR704, but replaced it with the CR704C, which has slightly different exterior characteristics, including a yellow-colored radio tuning background and a dark gray control panel.
