Background and Identification
This Craftsman trimmer is a powerful lawn tool to anyone’s collection. It is a 25cc 2-cycle engine, with a 17” swath. It has a curved shaft. As a part of the 2017 Craftsman Weedwacker® product line, fully assembled, it is 9.5 lbs and can hold 23oz of gasoline. Now discontinued, the intended user group is for personal, home use, not professional. Moderately priced, when it was on the market, it sold for $125.00-$150.00 US dollars. The model number of the device can often be found on the side or bottom of the trimmer’s motor casing. Reviews on the Craftsman website suggest there may be frequent issues when restringing the trimmer’s line.
To complete the assembly, the trimmer has eleven components:
- Throttle trigger
- Fuel cap
- Air filter
- Engine housing
- Front handle
- Driveshaft housing
Note: Per the user manual, be cautious of a leaking fuel cap as it’s a fire hazard and will need to be replaced immediately. For proper performance and long life, always keep the trimmer’s air filter clean. Normally black and red, since this product has been discontinued, there are no recent photos available.
