Troubleshooting ¶

Use the Troubleshooting Guide for helpful information regarding common issues related to the Cr-48.

Identification and Background ¶

The Cr-48 Chromebook is the first prototype notebook designed by Google and manufactured by Inventec. 60,000 Chromebooks were manufactured not for public sale, but rather were freely given to the participants of the Chrome OS Pilot Program in exchange for testing and feedback on Google's new Chrome OS. The Cr-48 Chromebook features a Anti-Glare 12.1 in display with a screen resolution of 1200x 800 and an aspect ratio 16:10. This Chromebook runs a 1.66 GHz single core Intel Atom processor and a 16GB Solid State Drive. The total dimension of the Chromebook is 11.8" x 0.9' and weighs only 3.8 pounds which make this a very portable laptop. The interior of the Chromebook has a multi-touch trackpad and a full size QWERTY keyboard which makes computing on this laptop easily accessible.

Chrome OS was created only to be used for online/web use which requires a consistent internet connection to fully function. The Chrome OS runs energy efficiently and provides users with a long battery life with a maximum of 8 hours. Not surprisingly, there are many really great things that this notebook holds, but also needs several new fixes that will ultimately generate a higher demand.
