Since 2010, Canon has renamed many of their devices. The prefix "Digital" and the suffix "IS" were removed in 2010 from the new models. Similarly, the Japanese IXY-series was also renamed. In the United States, the prefix "Digital" and the suffixes "IS" and "SD" were removed in 2011. New US and European models contain the suffix "HS" for "High Sensitivity".
