The Bose QuietComfort 15 were released in 2009 by Bose Corporation and quickly became one of the most popular noise-canceling headphones on the market. While on the market from 2009-2014 they were designed for travelers, students, and professionals who wanted to block out background noise while flying, studying, or working. Although the QC15 was discontinued after newer models were released, many people still use them today because of their comfort and strong noise cancellation.

There have been no major recalls of the QuietComfort 15. Most issues reported over the years—such as worn ear cushions or power switch problems—are usually due to regular wear and tear. Bose has offered replacement parts, which helped extend the life of the headphones.

When first released, the QC15 sold for about $299, which was considered expensive. However, their sound quality and noise cancellation made them worth it for many buyers. Even with newer competitors on the market, the QuietComfort 15 remains one of Bose’s most respected headphone models.

The Bose QuietComfort 15 headphones are over-ear headphones with a simple, sleek design. They have large oval-shaped ear cups, typically with black and silver accents displaying the Bose logo, that fully cover the ears and are cushioned with soft padding for comfort. The headband is adjustable and also padded underneath, making them comfortable to wear for long periods of time. The QC15 uses a detachable audio cable that connects to the left ear cup. The headphones are powered by a single AAA battery, which fits into a small compartment on the right ear cup to operate the noise-canceling feature.
