Background and Identification

Bladder volume measurement systems use non-invasive methods for measuring the volume of a patient’s bladder (cystovolumetry). Typically, these measurement systems use ultrasound technology. Ultrasound returns a two-dimensional image suitable for estimating bladder volume. Newer systems can return three-dimensional scans and may incorporate electrical impedance tomography (EIT) for a higher degree of measurement accuracy.
