Background and Identification
The Pixi 3 (5) is a budget smartphone sold by ALCATEL starting in August 2015. The Pixi 3 was released in a variety of screen sizes, but this specific model features a 5-inch LCD display with a resolution of 480x854 pixels. The phone can run a few different operating systems such as Android (KitKat or Lollipop), Windows Phone, or Firefox OS, but they are preloaded at the time of purchase.
While the Pixi 3 was sold with two models supporting 3G or 4G cellular, this model supports only 3G. It does, however, use a removable 1800 mAh battery behind the back case which can be easily swapped or replaced once it dies. The phone includes one or two micro-SIM card slots near the battery, an 8 megapixel camera on the back, and a 2 megapixel selfie camera above the screen. There is a 3.5 mm headphone jack at the top of the phone and a micro-USB port on the bottom for charging.
The Pixi 3 was sold in a myriad of colors, but all versions have the words “Pixi“ and “ALCATEL onetouch“ written on the back. To identify your Pixi, turn off the phone, pull off the back case, and remove the battery. In this compartment you will find a sticker with that shows the model number, which should be one of the following: 5015X, 5015A, 5015D, 5015E, 5016A. You can also find the IMEI (a unique 15-digit number) just above the barcode. Enter the IMEI on this IMEI checker website to find your exact hardware.
