Background
The AKG K72 are professional close-back over-ear budget headphones, released c. 2015, as the middle sibling in the KX2 series, between the junior AKG K52 and senior K92.
The headphones are marketed for studio, mixing and recording. However, the K72s very similar to the K52s with a bass dominant tuning, but the K72 has more emphasize on the lower mid-range, more prominent peaks and valleys and sharper high frequencies.
The headphones comes in in black, has a metal frame, self-adjusting headband and plastic cups with a silver center finish. The K72 has a fixed 3 m cable, terminating in a 3.5 mm stereo plug.
