Background Information

AERIS-10 is an open-source, low-cost 10.5 GHz Phase-Look Frequency Modulation (PLFM) phased array radar system designed by NawfalMotii79, a Moroccan engineer. The core goal of the project aims to democratize access to professional-grade radar systems by creating a DIY solution that can achieve up to 20 kilometers of range while costing only $7,000 USD. In contrast, most commercial radar systems typically cost over $250,000 USD. The system leverages a phased array antenna configuration with PLFM waveform processing to detect and track targets efficiently. All components and source code are made publicly available on GitHub, with contributions from the open-source community, making it an accessible platform for hobbyists, researchers, and educational institutions to develop and test radar systems without the prohibitive costs associated with conventional military-grade equipment.
