The Jeep Grand Cherokee is a line of mid-size SUVs (sport utility vehicles) produced by Jeep, an American automobile manufacturer. The fourth-generation Jeep Grand Cherokee (WK2) is a mid-size crossover SUV introduced in Spring 2010 for the 2011 model year. The 2011 Grand Cherokee has won 30 awards for off-road capability, luxury, value, best-in-class, and safety, making it the most awarded SUV.
The Jeep Grand Cherokee features a front-wheel four-wheel-drive layout with a five-speed automatic, six-speed automatic, or 8-speed automatic transmission. Like previous generations, the fourth-generation Jeep Grand Cherokee includes a steel unibody chassis. The WK2 series features four-wheel independent suspension for improved on-road handling. The fourth-generation Grand Cherokee was available in several trim levels, including Laredo, Laredo “E,” Upland, Laredo “X,” Trailhawk, Limited, Sterling Edition, Overland, Overland Summit, SRT 392, and SRT Trackhawk. Each trim level or edition includes a distinct level of standard and optional equipment.
