Replaced screen, backlight doesn't function, missing lcd connector

I dropped my ipod a few months ago. After buying a replacement screen i replaced it once. The backlight didnt work on the new screen. The company replaced it and the everything was working fine when i tested it. i put the device back together let the glue dry then tested some more. Everything still fine. Next day tried to switch it on backlight no longer worked. I took apart the device and found that one of my lcd pin connectors were missing like the third picture in this link:http://www.dropbox.com/gallery/943721/1/...

I tried the broken screen again and everything worked fine except the fact that half the glass was missing.

Ken, the only way to fix this, is by fixing the connector first. It is available through places like this It will require some very fine soldering tools and experience to solder the SMD component on the logic board. Hope this helps, good luck.

Well would it help if the missing connector is stuck on the new screen lcd connector? and why does my old screen still work then?

by

possible that the stuck pin still makes a connection when plugged in.

by

That doesnt make any sense, the connector is stuck on the new screen but the old screens backlight still works?

by

Okay, so now I am confused. Are you saying that your old screen works when plugged in? What does it do? Does it just show the backlight? Do you see anything but the white screen? You removed the broken pin from the old display connector? None of this will make sense until you can tell us what you see and what you did. You are the eyes and ears.....

by

Sorry. Well i didnt remove it. using the broken screen everything works fine except for the fact that some of the glass pieces are missing. While on the other hand the new screen has the pin stuck in it. I have not tried to remove it.
