Apple's mainstream 2021 iPhone was released on September 24th and comes with a 6.1" OLED display, a dual 12 MP camera system, and in five available colors. Successor to the iPhone 12.

Replacement Screen Includes Outer Bezel But Old One Didn't

I'm trying to replace the screen on an iPhone 13, but the old screen is paper thin, with no metal clips on the top and sides, and no sensors on the top of it (where the camera is, etc). The camera and sensors are all housed in the iPhone 13's body. The replacement screen I got on amazon is thicker (not paper thin!) and seems to include a bezel around it, with metal clips on the top and sides. Do I need to remove the bezel and metal clips and sensors from the iPhone 13 body and just use the new screen's included bezel? Anyone have a video or something on how to do this? Here are some pics:

Edit: This full teardown video shows the outer bezel thingy attached to the screen too!! What the hell phone do I even have? Lol. Bought the phone from Amazon renewed about a year ago: "Apple iPhone 13, 128GB, Starlight - AT&T (Renewed)"

It's just weird that no videos or guides have this weird outer frame/bezel thing included in the iPhone's body or show how to remove it.

We've been seeing this happen more and more with the later model iPhones. It seems Apple is using a glue for the screen bezel that isn't holding up like it used to on earlier models with the result when people try to remove the screen, they end up separating the bezel from the screen instead of removing it from the phone's frame along with the display.

The fix for you is fairly straight-forward; you have to repeat the opening procedure, only this time you'll be getting between the bezel and the phone's frame. Once you have the bezel off, set it and any parts attached to it onto the screen and you'll be able to continue with your repair, following along the guide.

Sooo it looks like while opening the phone I accidentally separated the glass from the outer bezel bracket thing instead of cracking the seal at the waterproof adhesive!

After closely looking at the iPhone body, I saw the waterproof gasket thing between the bezel and the rest of the phone body. So it was just a matter of prying up the bracket and the sensors and stuff came out with it!
