Handle Broken; I need to know how to Take the Door Apart to Repair
Brand New Intertek SM071025, Mfg. by Orbit Innovations, with Wicked Movie Logo. The handle on the front of the fridge (screwed on from the inside of the door and not meant to be turned) was rotated so the plastic was broken that the screw was screwed into. I only need to know how to open the edges of the door without damaging it so I can replace the screw with a slightly longer screw. I have several different sizes of plastic pry tools that are used for phones and other electronic items, but not sure where to pry from so the catches are not damaged. If anyone has any ideas where is the best location to pry without damage. I have included photos to show the inside of the door, the edge of the door, and the front of the door. It appears it might be best to separate the inside white plastic from the outside green plastic around the edge of the door. Should I start at a corner or along a long or short edge? I hope to put this back together without damaging the door itself. I have tried gently to pull the plastic parts apart but they appear to be holding tightly. I am not sure if there is some trick I am missing.
Is this a good question?
