Can't delete mailboxes in Apple Mail

I can't delete old mailboxes that have spontaneously reappeared. They reappeared after I had my logic board replaced recently so I think that has something to do with it.

I am running Snow Leopard 10.6.8.

I have tried the cog and the drop down menu there, Control click and Command delete and nothing happens. Any ideas?
