A crossover SUV by Honda introduced in 2002 for the model year 2003. The first generation was produced until 2007 when the car received a redesign.

driver side lock won't operate with key fob

On my 2007 Honda Pilot EX-L the driver side door lock won't open or close using the key fob. I have to use the physical key to do that. The key fob works fine and operates the other door locks

Answer this question I have this problem too

Is this a good question?

Hi @chanders

Can you lock/unlock the driver's door lock using the driver side door lock/unlock switch, you never said?

Hi jayeff, Thanks for your response! If by switch you mean the switch on the door that locks/unlocks all doors, then no I can't. I can however use the 'lock cylinder' on the door to lock and unlock

Hi @chanders

Did you try using the lock knob switch in the shoulder of the driver's door (see image below) to see if it worked.

Is there a master door lock switch on the front passenger's door? Not sure as the owner manual is not specific.

If there is a master lock switch in the front passenger side door then there seems to be 5 ways that the door can be locked/unlocked.

There are two switches in the driver's door that can lock/unlock it. The master door lock switch next to the inner door handle and the lock knob switch in the shoulder of the door (near the window) and presumably one in the front passenger side door (see lockout prevention paragraph in image below)

The other 2 ways are by remotely using the fob key and by using the fob key in the door cylinder keylock,

All of them connect back to what is known as the door multiplex control unit (located in the driver side under dash fuse/relay box) and it operates the door lock actuator to either lock or unlock the door depending on the signal from each input i.e. lock or unlock

Given that the key cylinder lock in the door unlock/locks the door OK this proves that the door lock actuator and the wiring from the multiplex control module to the actuator is OK.

If the door knob switch also doesn't work I don't know, the wiring from the door switches may be the problem but why only the two switches and not the cylinder switch or the door lock actuator.

Also the remote receiver unit in the car is a separate unit which is connected to the passenger side multiplex unit Presumably the two multiplex units communicate with each other.

It may be a problem with the driver side door multiplex unit. Perhaps check if its harness cable connection is secure and not loose.

Sorry I can't help further with this.
