My focus isn't working?

My focus seemed to be working the other day during use but now randomly won't focus when I try zoom. Anyone have a fix?

make sure ur in autofocus and when u press the shutter and wait , give it some time to auto focus the subject well after u zoom in and then completely press the shutter button and then see if its working if not then switch to manual and manually adjust the focus with the lens and even then if it doesn't work then try changing the lens

Ollie, some cameras require the focus to be set at a standard point in manual mode in order to function correctly in auto mode. Your camera manual can add more information, here's a link to manuals. The use guide may hint at the system processing also. Also, some cameras have an auto focus lock, like filmmakers use for details at a specific distance, which you may be able to turn off or readjust. https://www.google.com/search?q=nikon+d5...
