Why can't I make my resolution 144hz?

I buy it around 3 years ago and I didn't realize that my resolution isn't 144hz but 60hz and I can't switch it from 60hz to 144hz. The system is windows 11 and i'm using the laptop's display

@ziyadalhussin that may have to do with your display. Connect an external monitor via HDMI 2.0 cable and you could (not should), get it to 144Hz or at least 120Hz

Update (04/02/24)

@ziyadalhussin yes, I figured. That is why I suggested to try an external monitor and see if you can then change the refresh rate. I don't think your laptop display can change the refresh rate. The MSI GF63 Thin comes in two varieties. The 144hz and 60hz since you can't change your refresh rate, you most likely have the 60hz variant.

For example

GF63 Thin 11SC-693 60Hz screen

GF63 Thin 11UC-692 144Hz screen

GF63 Thin 12HW-001 144Hz screen
