My HP 15-fc0037wm laptop won't turn on.

My HP 15-fc0037wm laptop won't turn on.  I have checked the power supply. I have replaced the battery. I have removed the battery, plugged in the power cord and held down the button down -- no results.  When I press the power button, the tiny light on the power button blinks once, then nothing. When connected to power, light next to the power outlet on the laptop is on. What am I missing?

Answer this question I have this problem too

Is this a good question?

Hi @johnnyray,

Try disconnecting the power adapter, removing the battery and then press and hold the power button for 30 seconds and then release it. Reinstall the battery, reconnect the power adapter and then check if it turns on OK

Sounds like an internal problem. You have eliminated the battery and maybe the adapter. You need to verify the adapter plug has the specified voltage on it either by measurement or substitution.

Replacing the battery should have powered it on. Most batteries are shipped with at least 50% charge.

The blink of the button LED is telling me there is an internal short and the power module is disconnecting as soon as it detects that.

It could be anything, but a shorted CPU is not uncommon.
