Apple ImageWriter II won't print from Macintosh Plus

Hello! My Apple ImageWriter, even when connected to my Macintosh Plus through the correct selected ports, will not print. After I ran the self-demonstration, it proved that there is not a mechanical failure, and it will print. Whenever I select print in a document, it says it is printing, but nothing happens. Eventually, the pop-up goes away.

You need to open the printer selector dialog box to reset the port. It’s likely the CMOS battery needs replacing as the setting got lost.

I have checked all settings, and they appear to be OK. I think it might the cable I was using that I bought. It might not have had the right pinout.
