I can't tell if my replace LCD has a protective screen to be removed

I got a replacement LCD screen for a Nintendo Switch Lite, it has some bits of tape on the sides that are easy to take off but they don't peel any protective lay when they come off. There isn't any tab to pull that you typically see. What is throwing me off is there is a dot matrix E in one corner but when I compare with the old screen there doesn't seem to be another layer.

This is the replacement screen

Please advise. Is there a protective screen to remove?

Thank you, I needed a second pair of eyes for confirmation. I was able to pull one off using a pick.
