Why is there a shield icon next to my battery icon and my phone's not charging

According to the Motorola Moto G 5G User Manual, that icon indicates the battery has gone into overcharge protection mode.

The manual says it's because your phone has been plugged into a charger for three days or longer, and the fix is to simply unplug it then plug it back in.
