Asus vivobook won't boot if the adapter is not plugged in

Hi

I have an Asus Vivobook f505z laptop

After a motherboard replacement , that I did by myself , because the original got water damage ,

the laptop won't boot if the adaptor is not plugged in ..

if the adaptor is plugged in the pc will start normally by pressing the power button and all seems ok , after that I can unplug the adapter and the pc will run normally with the internal battery.

I can even unplug the battery right after the initial boot and the pc will boot with the battery , but if I shutdown the pc I have to plug the adapter to make it boot.

i checked all the connections and all seems fine everything work with this pc but

pressing the power button without the adapter plugged nothing happen why ?

anyone can face this issue ?

@giroigosaerno start by replacing the battery with a new one. Keep in mind that water damage is the hardest to troubleshoot and to repair. USe something like this video to do it.

While you work on your laptop, take lots of pictures. Once you are done with it, take those pictures and create a guide for iFixit. That will help the next person that has the same problem as you do. It's easy and fun to create these guides. https://ifixit.com/Guide/new The iFixit community will appreciate this.
