mryrines, have those songs played on the iPod before? Did this just start? What are the file format for those songs? Do they play in iTunes? Have you backed up your iPod?

mryrines start off with a hard reset. Here is an answer of mine from a similar question " A hard reset occurs when the iPod reboots. This happens when you hold the play and center button down for a few seconds. The iPod resets, rebooting with the Apple symbol on the screen. Wait a while and then turn it back on. The reset may fix your iPods skipping songs. Music glitches, pauses and skips on your hard drive based iPod can also mean a fragmentation. Do you have a disk utility program? Try a program like Norton Systemworks (PC), Drive Genius (Mac) or Disk Warrior (Mac) and run the defragmentation feature on your iPod, as if it were an external drive. Depending on how badly your hard drive is fragmented, you may need to erase your iPod and start over. You might want to check here http://hubpages.com/hub/How-to-Stop-iPod... and here http://www.wikihow.com/Defragment-an-iPo... and here for for more info http://forums.ilounge.com/windows-ipod-d... Those are of course my 2 cents only but may be worth a try." Good luck to you.

Found a VERY SIMPLE fix.

Go into your iTunes

Go to iTunes Library, go to Songs,

Click the top song, then Edit . Select

All

Right click top song, select Get Info… agree you want to edit info on all the songs

Change one unimportant thing: I went into the Comments field and entered “glitch fix”

Change/apply.. wait for the change to take to the entire library

Go into your device and resynch your library.

This will reset all the songs and should fix the issue. I have played five songs without a hiccup, I had not gone that long prior to the fix.

This doesn't work, btw; thanks for wasting 2 hours of my time, wiping my iPod and re-adding everything.

Thank you so much! I tried this for my 10 year old iPod on my new-to-me 2018 MacBook and it did the trick! Sooooo happy to have my iPod working and that I did not to have to buy a battery kit and potentially break the iPod forever without being able to replace it easily/for free through Apple!

Also worked for me. Specific songs skipped at a specific time in and now there's no skips. Awesome, thanks a lot!

Genius. This worked for me for a 7th generation iPod with an updated 1 TB ssd (SDXC) with a few other tweaks. I am going to post what I did on iflash.xyz referencing ifixit.com because a lot of what is posted on iflash did not work for me.

Hi buddy, I have the same problem as you, I've found the issue and also a workaround ( not a fix. )

The issue is with the right button on the ipod, the device continually reads an input to skip the song, or skip a part of the song.

The workaround is to pick a song, and lock the ipod so that there can be no input.

I know it's not a fix, but it's good enough for me, at least until I buy a new ipod.

To save location of a book, shut off screen by pressing top button; then open later to the same place

This is not always the issue. for me it skipped whenever a specific time was remaining in the song, regardless of the hold switch's position.

I had the same problem after I dropped my Ipod Classic.  I tried pressing all sorts of combinations - nothing worked.//

then I cleaned areound the centre  cirlcles with a really thin  knife and allowed the battery to run out hoping  thereby for a restart and voila it worked right away.  I hope it works for you all too.
