New battery didn't come with a connecting cable, how to fi

Hello! My laptop's battery is dead, so I bought a new one. The new one came and it fits, but it didn't come with a cable to connect it to the laptop. The previous battery has this wire hardwired in, so I cannot simply unplug it.

My question is: can I just simply buy a cable somewhere? I do not know how to wire or open a battery.

@paigepatz does not look like a hardwired cable. This

looks like a plugged in cable. You should pull the cable out and attach to the new battery

Hi, thanks for the response @oldturkey03.

I tried to do that but it would not come out, it was starting to strip the wires on the old battery (hence why they're visible). I tried it with the new battery as well and it wouldn't come out.

Would there be a tool you would recommend?

@paigepatz can you get a close up of the connector (both old and new) and post it?. I wonder if it has some kind of lock.

Hi! I'm going to mark this as solved as I could disconnect it! Thank you for the help @oldturkey03. I grabbed a weddling tool of mine for my arts n' crafts and pulled on the side of the plug. It seemed to do the trick as I heard a tiny click sound, then I could pull it out.

The new battery works amazingly! And a little electrical tape to cover the exposed wires help as well. Thank you so much!!!

Save the cable from the old battery it comes apart. You can look at the YouTube Dell 7490 battery replacement and you'll see that you can disconnect the old cable from the old battery and reuse it on the new battery.
