iPod classic won't connect to PC or Mac!

Hello! I recently bought an iPod classic 5th gen and I'm having trouble trying to add music to it. Every time I connect the iPod to my Macbook Pro 2015 it doesn't recognize it. The iPod charges but the "Connected" message doesn't appear on the iPod screen. My Itunes doesn't recognize it either, neither other programs like AnyTrans. I've already tried resetting the iPod, putting in disk mode, use another cable, I even tried to connect to my sister's Macbook Air but nothing happens. Same happens with a Windows 10 computer, the pc makes a sound like its connected but then appears an error message code 43 "USB not recognized" "Windows has stopped this device because it has reported problems". Can someone help me please?

I think the issue is a bad HDD
