Why doesn't my screen show true black?

I got my screen replaced, and it can show true black on some windows, but it doesn't show it on the homescreen or other apps. But sometimes it glitches and shows true black. but it gets annoying when watching YouTube since the screen flickers between true black and just "backlit" black.

I'm guessing that's a bad quality display/bad connection.
