My 'caps lock' key need ]s to be pressed harder than the other keys.

Hi there! My laptop's caps lock key has been harder to press in recent days than before. What's the cause of this? Should I be worried about this? If I need to clean/repair it, how should I do it safely?

I would say yes, it's very likely that all you need is to clean underneath the key. Compressed air is good and 90% or higher concentration of isopropyl (rubbing) alcohol is excellent for getting out anything sticky.

Really, all you need to do is to remove the key cap, take out the hinge mechanism and clean it out well. Put it back together and hopefully you're all set! Here's a video giving instructions on how to remove and replace the key caps on an HP ProBook like yours.

Good luck; let us know how it goes!
