My new battery will keep laptop on but won't start it up.

Hi, I bought a new battery from you. It charges ok and holds the charge well, but my computer won't power up after being shut down unless plugged in. I can then unplug it, and it works fine.

I want the computer to turn on with battery only. Is the battery faulty?
