White screen of death and now no WiFi.

I bought an iPod Touch 32 GB, 3rd generation which had a white screen of death. Nothing helped (restoring...) so I opened it up and found traces of liquid underneath the logic board on the graphics chip.

I cleaned it with isopropyl alcohol and let it dry and the next day the iPod worked again.

Everything is fine, even the battery loads but there is no Wifi and no bluetooth.

Both options are grayed out. I tried to reset the network settings and restored it several times.

Finally I took it apart again and checked the connections. Everything was fine but still no WiFi and no bluetooth.

There is IOS 5.0.1 loaded on it.

Any other suggestions for me to try?

Thank you!

This is a fault of the WiFi chip in the iPod. It's not something that you can fix by cleaning some contacts on the board. It's more then likely going to be a hardware fault. You will need a new motherboard for the iPod if you can't fix the board at the advanced level.

Before resorting to hardware replacement, I would give resorting the iPod a try. It's not likely to work, but it's worth a shot if it can potentially fix the problem.
