Hi @mrengraver91,

Is the laptop playing audio at the time?

If not try "muting" the speakers and check if the sound is still heard.

If it is still heard it's something else. You may have to try and track it down to see what area of the laptop it seems to be coming from, the fan perhaps.

If there is audio playing, try using headphones and check if the sound is heard. This is just to check whether the problem may be the main speakers in the laptop (try Left and Right speakers only) or perhaps something else associated with the audio circuit.

Thank you Jayeff

This procedure will help I believe

Yes the sound is still whether the sound is muted or not and no specific time for that!!

I'll try with headphones and see what will happend

If the sound is muted its not audio.

Plug in a headset to cancel the main speakers, just in case there's a "muting" problem somehow e.g. intermittently turns on??

Maybe it's the fan. Hopefully it's not the HDD.

What is the full model number of the laptop?

According to what I've found online for the model you selected some websites state it has an SSD and a HDD whereas others say just a HDD.

A HDD is mechanical in operation i.e. moving parts, whereas an SSD is solid state i.e. no moving parts.

So in your model the only things that can make noise if the audio is muted is the fan and a HDD as they're the only components having moving parts

@jayeff Appreciate your help

You are right I thinks it was coming from the external separated fan
