you need a new digitizer

also you need to open your Surface Pro 4 and look at the connectors (and upload photos if your confused and need help) BEFORE you buy anything so you can see what model you have

  • version 1.0 has a samsung display and a 25 point connector
  • version 2.0 has a LG display and 32 pin connector

SAMSUNG display is below

Surface Pro 4 (1724 v1.0) Screen

LG display is below

heres your guide to replace:

also, just a side note, you can use the guide to open your Surface to see what connectors it has

happy repairing! ^_^

Jack, has anything happened with your tablet lately, such as any kind of drops or water damage? Have you done any kind of software updates recently? Just looking for any changes that might correspond roughly to when the issue started.

Does the Device Manager show the touch screen driver as installed and working?

While yes, it's entirely possible your digitizer has failed and needs to be replaced, it's equally likely that it could be a software problem. You'll want to exhaust the software possibilities first before you spring for a new screen.

Same issue of touch screen not working after replacing battery. Screen peeled off with issue. The pen still is working on most of the screen. There is a approx 2" wide area from top to bottom that will not react to the pen. That area is on rt side about 2" in from edge and extends toward center of screen.
