I can't setup my Touch ID.

So, I bought iPhone 6 used which has a broken screen, but from what I know that's the only issue with it. I tried to setup Touch ID, but it fails no matter what finger I try and no matter how hard I clean it. I haven't worked with it much in the past, so I don't really know what's the exact issue here. There also isn't any error about the button and from what I know it's the original one. Do you guys think it's more of the hardware or software issue?

It could be an aftermarket home button which wouldn’t have touch id.

Hi

From my experience this issue tends to come about when the screen get damaged

What I would try before replacing the screen is reseating the screen and home button connectors

Here’s the guide for that

iPhone 6 Home Button Replacement

If reseating doesn’t work a new screen may be needed as the home button plugs into the screen

After that the home button could be damaged on the inside

Hopefully this helps

Any questions please ask

Thanks:-)
