MacBook Pro 2011 Won't boot from a internal SSD

Hi

My system will not boot if I put a Bootable SSD internal, the same SSD will boot from a USB enclosure, I have change the HHD Cable 2011 with one from Amazon and still no luck.

The system will boot fine from a 1.5t HHD internal or USB I can even boot from a SD card.

if I hold down the option key with the SSD internally the system sees it and the recovery drive but when I select it I just get the flashing folder..

so I have read that I should order the 2012 cable as it is much better then the 2011 cable.

any help wold be great

Terry

I would still replace the HD cable as SSDs run harder so a weak cable often shows up under it Vs a HDD.

Did you select it as your boot drive?

@Terry Genereaux - Did you check the startup drive within prefs? Also did you install the same OS version your HDD has?
