Just changed battery, still doesn't turn on.

Like a year ago had a Redmi 6 pro, worked fine and suddenly didn't turn on stuck at the android logo.. then nothing. Now i just replaced the battery which was so weird, so "fat" it pushed the back cover out. And now I'm trying to charge it and nothing happens, what else can I do?

@albdumb, A swollen battery is a big fire hazard and the battery must be handled with care, and disposed off according to local regulations.

Did you get a new battery from a reputable vendor, or just randomly online? New batteries can be faulty, but we would have to know more.

You said it was stuck at android screen, that sound a lot like a boot loop. Sadly there are multiple reasons for a cellphone to do a bootloop, the easiest repair you can do is to unplug components one by one and seeing if the phone fully starts.

When your phone boots up, it check every component (camera, microphone, speakers, etc..) if they are there or not. If one of your components is damaged it sometimes wont be able to tell if its actually there or not and will reboot and check again. I would recommend disconnecting a component, try to start the phone and if it loops, you reconnect that component and do another. It's not a perfect method but it will tell you if there is something else than the battery that needs repair. Of course remember to always disconnect the battery first.

As I charged it for a longer time I felt the battery was warm, so I suppose something else is wrong. The old swollen battery didn't show sign of leaking. The phone never was dropped, it still look like brand new so I'm a bit mad. All I can remember the storage was always on edge to full, I guess I take it to a professional. Thanks anyway.
