My wii won't show video on my screen

My Wii will not show any video on my screen when I plug it in and turn it on. For some reason, I can still hear the wii menu but I cannot see it. I've tried buying multiple A/V cables, but to no avail. Does anyone know why my wii is not working?

Have you tried a different tv

Options

It could be the capacitors in the video circuitry, those can cause a dark image if they are damaged.
