System powers on when power cable is connected. It can't be shut off.

The system will power on and not shut off. I swapped power supplies, and power button. Nether worked. I disconnected the power button and plugged in the console. It powered on. What can I do to fix this?

Have you tried a hard reset? Press and hold the power button for around 10 seconds and see if it helps.

Short of replacing internal parts you can always unplug it or connect it to a switched power strip.

Ya. Well I'd be fine with replacing internals if it didn't seem to be a motherboard problem. But if the power button is held then the ejection button is pressed it shuts off normally

But it has to be timed to let your fingers go right away or it will power back on and eject the tray
