Hi,

Does the laptop's battery charging light turn on when you connect the charger to the laptop?

If not, check that there is 20V DC on the output plug of the charger to make sure that the charger is OK. (see p.22 of the hardware manual, linked below)

If the charger's voltage output is OK there may be a problem with the laptop's DC-In Cable - part # 5C10S29896

Here's the hardware maintenance manual for the laptop. Go to p.46 to view the necessary pre-requisite steps and then the procedure to remove/replace the DC-In cable. This will allow you to access the cable and disconnect it from the motherboard so that you can use an Ohmmeter to test if there is continuity through the jack from the input side through to the cable's plug connector, both +ve and -ve.

The supplier of the part linked above is only an example to show what the part looks like and how much it may cost. There are other suppliers online that may suit you better. Search online using the part number only to get results

Well Remove the battery from your laptop. Press and hold the power button for 30 seconds, then release it. Put your battery back in and plug your charger into your laptop. Turn on your computer, and it should start charging now.
