PC won't turn on with or without charger, battery lamp blinking white

I got a notification to replace the laptop battery, so I bought a new battery and adapter. But the laptop wouldn't turn on without charger plugged in, so I plugged in the charger. When charging, the indicator tells it is charging but the battery percentage doesn't increase nor decrease, so I always plug in the charger when I'm using laptop. Every time I plug in the charger, the laptop suddenly turns itself on without me pressing the power button. Then a few days later my laptop wouldn't turn on with or without a charger/battery. Every time I connect the charger, the battery light only blinks white.

I left my laptop for days and after that, I tried to turn it on again with the battery and connected to the charger, it worked, the laptop turned on. But after a while it turns off itself again and when I want to turn it on the same thing happens again, the laptop doesn't turn on and the battery light flashes white. I have try with the old AC and battery, but it is the same, blinking white battery light. Even though I removed the battery, the laptop should be able to turn on if it is connected to a charger, right?Does someone know what went wrong? Please help me.

Actually my laptop is HP Probook 5220m.

laptops should run without the battery, just plugged into the charger.

Try a reset as described in this video this is a not uncommon problem when replacing the battery.

Other things to try if this fails:

Update the bios

Edit, forgot to mention: also try uninstalling the 'power' driver's and restart.

Remove and replace the cmos battery (difficultly depends on model). Good luck. Other possibilities exist but are unlikely in your situation

dear i have the same problem, my laptop was on charging, after some time suddenly it power off. without connecting charger it didn't even show any sign of life. after connecting charger it only show charging full white light, when i press power on button that battery light start blinking 2,3 times and then come to its same position, if you have found any solution please share me at my email, thanks. mmustajabulhassan786@gmail.com

I would guess you have a power circuit problem. The blinking white light would indicate it is trying to charge the battery, or maybe it is having a problem charging the battery. So, if the battery does not charge, or if it does and doesn't run the LT AND the LT doesn't run on adapter alone then it is a problem either with the adapter or the power circuit. It appears that circuit is on the system (MB) PCB. That is probably not going to be cost effective to fix since you would have to replace the MB.

In my case hard reset didn't work.

It is blinking white light beneath charging symbol even if I remove the battery and plug the AC adaptor charger it still won't power on. It just happened yesterday when I was using it on battery and it shortdown due to low battery I tried to power it when I connected it to AC adaptor but it refuse to power on. I am fade up with this issue. I have tried all possible means except for pulling out the components one after the other and the Motherboard... Though it was giving me sign to replace my battery with a new one for about a week now... Advise me please 🙏
