New battery won't charge

I've replaced the battery and the docking connector, now the battery won't charge.

It doesn't sync with iTunes either (not recognized when USB is plugged in.)

In both cases when I plug into the power adapter and USB port on Macbook, it only shows the battery charging. But even after plugged in over 24 hours, the battery is still not being charged.

sounds like you got the wrong battery. 3g and 3gs are not cross compatible
