I have a DriveAssist 51 & didn't see it

My power port got damaged from falling from window suction loss.

Where can I get repairs done, or parts to fix it myself?

Hi,

Here’s a video that shows how to replace the battery in your device, that may help.

I realize that the battery is not the problem but the video is still useful as it shows how to open the device so that access to the charge port is possible.

Whilst it is not shown in the video the mini USB charge port is soldered to a board so you will need smd (surface mount device) soldering skills and tools to effect the repair. You will also have to source a compatible mini USB port as a replacement. Not all mini USB ports are the same as they can vary as to the number and position of the mounting lugs on the case of the port. These lugs are used to secure the port to the board and have to match the lug soldering point positions on the board they are being used on. Search on places such as digikey.com, mouser.com and farnell.com to hopefully find one.

If doing this yourself seems too daunting, contact a reputable, professional electronics or mobile phone repair service and ask for a quote.
