My iPhone 3G screen is black but it isn't in DFU Mode. Please help!

I cracked my LCD while reparing the device. I was able to get another authentic iPhone 3G digitizer and LCD to complete the repair however, upon completing the repair the screen isn't working. When I plug my phone into my computer iTunes recognizes it. I don't hear the bleep sound when I connect it, but iTunes is able to sync and back the device up with no problem. Can someone please tell me what could be the issue? I've taken the digitizer off, unplugged everything, and plugged everything back in to make sure everything was connected correctly. I've even taken it a step further and disconnected the battery and reconnected it.

Answer this question I have this problem too

Both the cracked LCD and the new LCD won't light when installed.

Have you tried holding home and power together for about 10 seconds? the apple sign should appear then release buttons. Other suggestion is to disconnect no3 and see if it is causing the problem.

I did try the reset option. I didn't try the last option however, I've disconnected the entire thing and reconnected it several times. Nothing has helped.
