backlight, power, and sound work but there's no picture

I have a Philips 55” Smart tv Model:55PFL5402/F7. The picture started flickering one day while I was watching tv and the picture hasn’t come back on since then. The backlights are all lighting up and the tv is definitely coming on and the sound is still working. What is causing this? What part of the tv needs replaced??

@victoriaashley quick question. Can you see the on board menu when you call it up from your remote. Does anything show on the panel at all?

I can't see any picture whatsoever.

Because you mentioned flickering, my first suspect is the T-Con board. Make sure the number on the replacement T-Con board you get(e.g. 6870C-0584A) is exactly the same as the number labeled PN on your current board(you can find the number by the LG logo).

The second t-con board I put in from another tv has the same exact part number but I got the same results when I put it in. I guess that t-con board could also be bad. Is there anything else it could be? I’ll look online for a new tcon board

When I disconnect the ribbon cables on either side of the t-con board the corresponding side of my screen responds by turning white. I'm getting a response on both sides of the screen. Could it still be the t-con board or something else? The t-con board is definitely still picking up the connection of the ribbon cables.

@victoriaashley Follow the flow chart(the image) that jayeff has posted and let me know how far you get.

@victoriaashley you got two candidates left. One is the main board because of the flickering snd still having audio, the other one is the actual panel. You could check the connections from the t-con board to the LCD driver board and see what the voltages are. We would need to get the info of the driver board to see if there is a datasheet so we would know if it works etc. That is worst case scenario.

What is a data sheet? When I disconnect the ribbon cables on either side of the t-con board the corresponding side of my screen responds by turning white. I'm getting a response on both sides of the screen. Could it still be the t-con board or something else?

@victoriaashley it'll do this "When I disconnect the ribbon cables on either side of the t-con board the corresponding side of my screen responds by turning white" because of a total loss of signal and the backlight is on. It is not an indication of the T-con board having either failed or being good.
