replaced battery, won't charge and randomly tries to reboot

We have 3 iPhone 3GS models and they all started having the random shut off problem within a month apart and are only 1 1/2 years old. Readying the recommendation to replace the battery...I ordered one from iFix it to test it before ordering 2 more. My husband replaced in his phone this week but now the phone will not charge and constantly tries to reboot while on the charger.

I'm trying to avoid purchasing new phones with the holidays fast approaching and I'm not sold on purchasing new iPhone models with this experience.

Answer this question I have this problem too

Is this a good question?

I think there have been a few people reporting the same problem..contact ifixit sales, it may be a bad batch.

Thanks...I'm going to have my husband call this evening. I can't believe Apple doesn't stand behing their product...they won't even answer a questions with out $29 just because they're out of warranty. Really??? That $29 means more to them than me buying three new iPhones...looks like I'll be researching phone options too

your problems are exactly like mine, I've have replace the battery and the phone boot up but it won't accept charge, soon the battery drains out and now its an "brick" I do think it's the "Lower dock assembly " problem (deck connector) I'd order the dock connector will replace it myself, will let you folks know how it turn out!

Spoke to a very nice Apple agent this morning...lil different experience than yesterday...thank goodness! Sounds like it's not a battery issue...so now a test to see if it's the hardware or software. Restoring one phone back to factory settings and we'll see if it continues to randomly shut down

update..... the issue with iphone 3gs won't accept charge, after i replace the battery the phone power up but shortly it discharged, because it won't accept an charge, thats when i figure it was the dock connector. i order a dock connector unit (comes with the mic.) and replace the dock connector, that was a piece of cake however i run into other issues... the phone reboots, seems to be taking forever to charge and home button don't work!! back to drawing board.........will keep u folks posted
