Sony CCD-TR81 Camera won't turn on when plugged in to any power.

I am not sure why my simple question is not clear. What this means is that my camera won’t operate or show that it is on when I plug it into power. Here is my question again. Let me know how I can improve my question so that it can be answered. Thanks!

Hi @gordonstrom ,

Don’t know the answer but here’s a composite image taken from the service manual for the camera showing the power supply circuit and the power on procedure that may help.

Checking the connections between the power supply either the battery or the external supply and IC610 and then if IC610 itself is OK would be a good place to start. Also looking at the flowchart, there are a lot of conditions to be met before power is applied to the processor so that the power on sequence can begin.

Unfortunately the manual doesn’t describe the dis-assembly procedure to access the appropriate sections of the camera.
